WHAT'S NEW?

Dec. 16, 2001 - Long time, no see, faithful web readers.  Now that the holiday break is upon us and our nagging server problems have been eradicated, we here at the Bear have finally found some time to throw a few decent updates your way.  But before we do, we have a sad announcement to make.  In the past, many Lazy Bear fans frequented co-founder Logan Lee's Yahoo! club Ask Logan.  Due to a series of mishaps, Ask Logan is no more and the link has been removed from the Links page.  We are working on making some of the salvaged Ask Logan content available on the main Lazy Bear site, but until then, let's all bow our heads in reverence for the demise of a great crazy distraction...  Alright, now let's get to the goodies:  First off, Christmas is fast approaching and that means it's the official holiversary of everyone's favorite yuletide flick Holiday Problems!  In honor of the event, we've replaced that horrible, grainy poster that looked like it should be on the front of a Jerry Springer video with a brand new anniversary edition poster .  Bask in it's superiority, but if you enjoy pain, you can still see the old image in the Holiday Problems! section of our image gallery here .  In other news, a whopping 36 long awaited images from Logan and Ryan's Wacky Comedy Hour have been added to the image gallery .  This is a must-see addition, folks, with tons of neat screen captures from the flick.  In the future, expect to see animated gif images of Logan breaking the prop door and the kung fu fight.  Also, you may have noticed that the stylized title for the top of the pages has changed to this:

Like it?  We do.  That alteration is just the beginning as we have a HUGE MAMAREDESIGN planned for the site in the near future.  Upgrade those browsers now, folks.  Finally a few house-keeping type things have been resolved.  The "squished menu bar" problem that was occuring on the Logan and Ryan's Wacky Comedy Hour and Mike the Action Figure and the Mike the Action Figure Band pages has been fixed.  The rather unusual glitch with docl-prod-setup1.jpg and docl-prod-setup2.jpg over at the image gallery has been corrected.  Now clicking on these links will NOT lead to a picture of Ryan in a dress, and that's something we can all be thankful for.  Then again if you like that sort of thing (you sick puppy) try here .  Last, but most certainly not least, a few nips and tucks have been made to the  Films, Shorts, and Current Projects section.  Unfortunately most of the projects that have been gathering dust under the COMING IN 2001 heading will not be coming in 2001.  The good news is, we no longer have an Unproduced Projects area.  All ideas that we started but never finished have been filed under our new WAITING IN THE WINGS section.  After all, we'll eventually get to those projects or at least recycle them into something new.  In fact there are big plans for those projects once we get our major redesign underway.  Even better news, though, is that Cost of Living has now been moved up to our COMING IN 2002 section!  It appears there may be a new hope to get Lazy Bear's first and only play produced on the stage!  Keep your fingers crossed, kids!  Also in the 2002 section is a logo for a new project the boys are working on.  We don't even have a title for this one, but we thought we'd tease you with it anyway as it looks like this has the potential to be our most fully realized project yet!  Check back often as these next few months promise to offer many updates culminating in a brand new project, perhaps our first ever video clips, and a complete Lazy Bear facelift!

July 7, 2001 - Well, well, just when you thought it was all old hat, we've added yet another project to the Projects Page .  Is it a new video that we're just now telling you about?  Is it another addition to the unproduced section that you'll never see?  Hell, no!  For a change, we're letting you know about our new film The Life and Times of Dr. Logan before the script is even written!  Logan and Ryan will be getting together today to brainstorm on this, and maybe come up with a song or two for your downloadable amusement!  We'll keep you updated on all of this as it unfolds!

July 5, 2001 - Sorry for the delay, our kind webspace provider Jeremy DeYoung, was installing a new system which caused us to experience a few difficulties updating the page.  (But be nice to him, kids, we get this space real cheap.)  Anywho, the information page on Dr. Logan's Day Out is finally up, complete with a snazzy poster image.  Go check it out, as it represents our first foray into the lost art of silent film!  And speaking of the good doctor, no less than 24 brand spankin' new behind the scenes production stills for Dr. Logan's Day Out have been added to the Image Gallery.  If you're too lazy to scroll around and find 'em yourself, just click here .  Next up, information pages for both Yo homey, wanna go bust up some skinks? or Quit sending the spies! and Logan and Ryan Hit the Magic Kingdom have been uploaded.  Unfortunately, these films are both listed under the unproduced section, meaning that scripts were written or the basic idea was laid out, but a finished product will probably never be available.  However, if you get off reading about cool stuff that never happened, you'll really enjoy these.  If the unrealized dreams of others do NOT excite you, than you can listen to some newly recorded soundclips from Holiday Problems! by clicking here , or get a soundclip from Dr. Logan's Day Out by clicking here .  (Yeah, there's only one, it is a silent film after all!)  And finally, the page for the Second Annual Brentwood High School Night at the Oscars is complete and 8 new pictures from the event have been added to the Image Gallery (scroll all the way down, they're there).  Expect more soon!

May 8, 2001 - The preview to end all previews is now up in the Image Gallery .  Before we've even told you about Dr. Logan's Day Out, our experiment in silent film, there are 18 behind the scenes production stills availble here .  We'll have a page up in the projects section for this flick soon!

May 7, 2001 - Presto change-o!  For your ease and download convenience, all of our cumbersome humongous wav files have been transmogrified into teeny tiny mp3 files!  If you're wondering how much of a difference this makes, our site used to occupy about 100 megabytes whereas now it's about 15.  That means that we've got tons of room for all sorts of cool new stuff!  So if you've been dying to here the ever popular ORIGIN sound, but couldn't wait for the 6mb download, head on over to our newly improved Sound Vault and go nuts!  Oh, and if you're disappointed that you can no longer grab those Lazy Bear wavs for your computer's start up and shut down sounds, just drop us a line and we'll hook you up.  Also, make sure to mail us if you find a broken link that points to one of the old wav files so we can change it to the mp3.  Enjoy!

Apr. 17, 2001 - Lots of little goodies and additions to report.  A partial bio of the mysterious Kyle Coker has been added to the Lazy Bear Players (As in Actors!) page.  Kyle has been with the company almost as long as Logan and Ryan, so check back for more info on him soon.  Also on the bio page, we now have a picture of Stephen Shaver...or do we?  The info on Cost of Living has been added to the Films, Shorts and Current Projects section, although we are sorry to report that the play did not get picked up by the Mockingbird Theater and has been moved to the unproduced projects section.  The page for Holiday Problems! has been updated to include a poster , and the Image Gallery now includes three Holiday Problems! screen-shots .  Perhaps most exciting is the addition of Holy Cow?! to the Films, Shorts, and Current Projects page.  Holy Cow?! was the first film Logan and Ryan did together and its page contains many interesting bits of trivia.  GO THERE NOW!   And finally, we've split the What's New? page into two parts.  If you want to see what was new back in 2000, you'll have to hit the link at the bottom of this page, or just click here .

Apr. 15, 2001 - HEY, KIDS!!  There's finally something in the games section!  Yes, it's The Official Lazy Bear Productions Trivia Quiz !  Test your knowledge of our fine company.  Don't fret if your not a longtime fan, most of the answers can be found right here on our webpage!  Oh, and don't try accessing it through the games link, as that's not quite up yet.  Just go straight here .  And we seem to have ironed out the problem we were having with the pictures on the Mike the Action Figure and the Mike the Action Figure Band comics page.  If you were unable to see it before, go check it now!

Mar. 11, 2001 - Wow, the year's really picking up for Lazy Bear Productions!  Logan and Ryan have completed the first ever Lazy Bear play, and submitted it to the Mockingbird Theater 's New Southern Theatre play festival.  It's called Cost of Living and it involves two hapless shlubs trying to pay the rent who accidentally get involved with the mob!  Hilarity, needless to say, ensues.  If it ends up being produced, we'll make sure to keep you updated as to where you can get tickets and such!  If it's rejected, we'll never speak of it again.  Also, intrepid co-founder Ryan DiGiorgi was mentioned in a recent issue of the Tennessean , regarding his involvement in the Television Productions program at Brentwood High School.  Although he talked the reporter's ear off about Lazy Bear Productions, plugging the webpage on multiple occasions, she failed to mention it, and his name appears only in passing.  C'est la vie.  At least the reporter liked his segment of the show, calling it "worthy of a Saturday Night Live news report" (in other words, Ryan was compared to the master of comedy, Chevy Chase!!)  Also mentioned in the article is the 2001 Brentwood High School Night at the Oscars program, and unlike last time, a Lazy Bear creator went home with a few awards!  Ryan was awarded Most Creative and was given and additional trophy honoring his involvement in the Best Ongoing Program, Wilco Watch (he's the resident film critic for the show).  Unfortunately, because co-founder Logan Lee chose not to take the TV Pro class this year (due to creative differences), he was ineligible for an award, even though he was the principle creative force behind Holiday Problems! which was nominated in both the Best Short Feature and Most Entertaining categories.  Additionally, two of Ryan's intros were nominated for Best Intro, and his review of the horrible space-travesty Battlefield Earth was nominated for Best Short Feature.  See all the coverage an pictures here .  Just like last year, many of the little golden statuettes found their way into the hot sweaty hands of our colleague Seth Worley, and since he's just updated his webpage, we'll go ahead and link him .  Hope he doesn't get used to it.  Speaking of Seth, Lazy Bear Productions has loaned Ryan out to Seth's company Superbyron Pictures to help write a sequel to It's Halloween Mr. Madison , a short film by Seth and Jonathan Barrickman that took home it's share of awards as well.  The sequel is tentatively titled Madison 2: Dead Air and should be done sometime in April.

Jan. 23, 2001 - Good news, 25 new high quality images from Blender Agenda are now available on the Image Gallery , including an animation of the good Dr. Logan being hit by a fridge!  Also, a sketch of John Paul Penrod now accompanies his biography section over at the Lazy Bear Players (As in Actors!) page.

Jan. 16, 2001 - Well, we've finally obtained the necessary equipment to capture still images from our films.  The Image Gallery now contains six pictures from Blender Agenda .  These are of marginal quality, but we should be able to post some nicer ones very soon.  As always, keep checking back!

Jan. 15, 2001 - Happy New Year, loyal Lazy Bear lovers.  As our belated Christmas present to the fans, the info page for Blender Agenda 2: Blend Harder has been updated with late breaking casting additions and an all new poster !  But don't forget about our other upcoming film, The Unnamed Lazy Bear Project , whose star John Paul Penrod has just been added to the Lazy Bear Players (As in Actors!) page, and so has Stephen Shaver.  Go check it out, Rosco!
